One day we will be gone from this earth, what stories do you want people to remember? Do you have regrets? Let’s be clear about the regrets, not the “I can’ts,” the, “ I could have but didn’t.” If you think about the opportunities, that were placed in your lap and you didn’t do them and now wish you had of. What moments stand out in your mind, that make you happy. Will others remember those too? Jot down a timeline with those moments, recreate them as often as you can.
When that finger is poking you in the chest, to take action, do it. I always want to do a family reunion, every year it comes to mind. Then someone in the family passes away and I associate that plan as a jinx. Unreasonable, I know! This year I want three significant events, whatever they are, I am unsure, but I want them. I want more moments, gatherings, time. I love planning, organizing, papers with plans, this year a follow through!
In another life, I could have been an event planner or organizer for other people. When it comes to me, and applying the things to myself, it’s easy to let it fall away. I can get it all planned and never pick a date, commit or leave it undone. This year, I will, it is out of my head and out of my mouth and that is half the battle. Leave behind lots of moments to remember, it doesn’t have to be grandiose, cost money or energy. If moments arise that you can be part of, be part of them, be available to make a history before you are history.
